only men, never women

In the last year or so, I have noticed men, not women, continuously snapping their fingers as they walk along corridors.  This can be in an office, in a sports club but not on the street, only in corridors.  Why do they do this ?  Is it because their fingers have become accustomed to movement from tying on computers and smartphones and videogames ? Are they seeking attention ? Do they have some sort of syndrome, maybe Tourette’s or OCD ?  Or are they just rude ?  Why is it only men ?  Why has it only developed in the last year or so ?  What is going on ?
And talking of obsessive use of mobile phones, I am thinking of investing in chiropracy. All this staring down at phones with the head at an absurd right angle to the body is bound to cause some sort of long term epidemic of neck problems – again I only see men do this, never women.
Talking of things which only men do, it is the same in restaurants and canteens. Often I see men, head face down staring at their plate, arms wrapped defensively around their food, shovelling the food into their face with their hand in an ape-like position, fingers pointing at their own bodies.  Why is it only men who do this and never women ?
