I have been thinking a little about the difference between evolution and creationism. Science forms a hypothesis which ideally is testable, then a theory which generally has been tested to a certain extent and then this becomes a paradigm, which has been extensively tested. The idea is to arrive finally at a scientific fact. So hypothesis, theory, paradigm, fact. Evolution is often called the Theory of Evolution, especially by creationists. In fact it was a theory in the mid 1800s; nowadays it is either a paradigm or a scientific fact. Intelligent design from a scientific perspective is, at best, a hypothesis. So if you teach them in a science class, then you should teach the Intelligent Design Hypothesis and the Fact or Paradigm of Evolution. That doesn’t make sense of course and that is why only evolution should be taught in science classes at schools. Intelligent Design belongs in classes on religion, social philosophy or perhaps in a class on how stupid and self-deluding mankind can be.
